Oulton Park, 2018, 1ST ROUND WINNERS!!!!!!

F&D, run and competed by Mark Hammersley and Matt Faizey

After an awful week beginning with smashing the car up during Tuesdays test session, Matt falling ill, the gear linkage breaking in quali, and the front shock blowing all its oil out………

From 27th on the grid to 2nd overall, and 1st in class, not just by seconds, but having lapped the rest the Faucough&Dye team went from misery to elation in 2 hours. A ‘fastest lap’ eluded them by 0.55s but maybe next time…

Team Boss Mark Hammersley rallied the troops, managed morale and alongside Lee and M&G’s own Mat-L and of course with Matt F driving the team kept their chins up.

So, after having nearly loaded the car up to leave for home at 3am before the race due to illness the triumphant team look back on a monster weekend with mixed emotions. The primary one being elation!

This means the M&G sponsored team go into the next Round at Rockingham on June 10th as championship leaders.

First race for the Faucough&Dye Motorsport Team sponsored by M&G results in a win!

To those that want to beat us, Faucough&Dye...........

March update

Faucough and Dye have been out testing.

At a freezing cold, sleety and downright miserable weathered Oulton Park the Porsche went well. The primary focus was on checking over the changes that have been made. All seemed well. We’re just over 2 weeks from the season opener at Donington. The two week forecast still shows as being cold, very cold.

Jan 2018

For 2018 M&G along with Applied Autosport will be sponsoring the ‘Faucough & Dye’ Motorsport team.

Two cars are being run for 2018. Both are currently being painted / liveried and ‘tweaked’. The Cosworth Capri, and a Porsche 968. The Capri is still under development and it is yet to be determined which series it will race in. The 968 is the endurance racer.

The ‘Club Enduro’ series by 750MC has confirmed Championship status for 2018.

We will be supporting Faucough & Dye for the following rounds

18th March, Donington , Round 1

14th April, Oulton Park, Round 2

10th June, Rockingham, Round 3

6th/7th July, Spa Francorchamps Rounds 4&5

11th August, Silverstone, Round 6

7th October, Snetterton, Round 7

Following what we think was a successful debut during the 2017 ‘Club Enduro’ race series (and an equally successful Roadsports series debut too) run by 750MC. In their first ever season 5 weekends out of 5 saw 5 podiums. Unfortunately not a win, although if it were not for a 30 second stop-go penalty at Anglesey they may have taken the win there. They also competed in the Roadsports series in 2017 taking podiums, a Pole Position and numerous fastest laps. Given that they were ravaged by Pneumonia, and a serious shoulder injury for the mid-season as well as the 968 being overweight and underpowered means we are expecting good things from them next year.

The team consists primarily of genius coach / chassis engineer Mark Hammersley and our very own Matt Faizey as No.1 driver. They are supported by pit-crew (who work for love, excitement + cooked breakfasts alone) and will be joined by 1 or 2 other drivers once the season starts.

M&G have stepped on-board to sponsor this up&coming team simply because we know the coverage will be good if this team continues doing well. Moreover, the Enduro series is likely to be given full championship status for 2018 with some TV coverage.

If anybody reading this would like to advertise / sponsor on the cars, race van or race trailer please get in touch with ourselves or Mark at Applied Autosport.

Our man, Matt Faizey

Donington, 2017, first ever race in the 968, quali’d 2nd in the wet, finished 2nd only 1second off first!
