The first new vehicle on the fleet in 2014 hits the road.
Well, we had dragged some of our older vehicles to a point well past their best. They had served well but it is time to renew.
The first of two vehicles coming into our family this summer (rumour has it a third new one may be on the way too) is this box style vehicle.
Chosen because of the huge tail-lift she is equipped with which is essential for some types of office moving. Moreover makes items such as ride on mowers, slate beds for snooker tables, jukeboxes and other difficult / heavy items much easier and safer to move.
Will shortly have one of our registrations allocated to her.
We offer huge praise and massive congratulations to Tracey who has just passed her IAM advanced driving test.
M&G launched a scheme in May 2013 whereby any employee that successfully puts themselves at their own cost through the IAM advanced course – and of course passes the test would not only have all the costs of doing so refunded to them but would also receive a 5% payrise.
There are currently 3 others (granted anonymity for now) studying for this and we wish them well.
For now though, WELL DONE TRACEY.
In other news…..
M&G already support local racer Chris Fellows (you can see a photo lower down on this page) and now we announce that M&G will have its own car running in the BMW Compact Cup in 2014.
It will be driven by Matt. Who will also now, by invitation be the 2nd driver of a two man team competing in the roadsports series. For more details visit the M&G Racing page
Matt’s new quotemobile;
So, we knew we have been asking a lot of him. Sometimes Matt can cover 180 urban miles in one day, across 10-12 customer appointments on surveys. And, well, to effect this, under stress, and with every appointment made for an exact time in a 1.0 Toyota IQ was proving hard going.
So, after 50,000 fault free, reliable miles in the IQ he now has a replacement;
We must make a mention, and recommendation for the Toyota IQ however, if anyone reading this is considering one then based upon our experience we say go for it. If it were not for the fact that matt needed a little more poke then we’d have replaced the IQ with another.Heres hoping the Arbarth proves as reliable…..
Oh, we almost forgot, we’re trialling some funky reflective vinyl – feel free to tell us what you think;
The MoversandStorers Show / The Mover Conference 2013 was a roaring success and M&G developed, managed and hosted the annual Packer of the Year Contest here.

Chris, in his M&G emblazoned Ginetta G27 will be racing in the Ginetta Challenge this weekend. Indeed Ginetta very kindly ensured he was issued car number 65 in celebration.
Chris is pictured below with the Mayor of Solihull, Joe Tildesley, and at 65 Chris is not only still racing but we are reliably informed he is still quicker than those 40 years younger!!!!
M&G are truly proud to have been chosen to sponsor this event. We wish Chris every success this weekend.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO GEOFF!
Geoff turned 60 and everyone here, and all our regular customers, have wished him a very Happy Birthday.
